Risch Continues Strong Lead Against Opponents
BOISE, ID – A new statewide poll shows U.S. Senator Jim Risch maintaining a commanding lead in his reelection campaign, with a 34-point advantage over his nearest opponent less than 80 days before Election Day.
The survey of 500 likely Idaho general election voters, conducted August 11–13 by Peak Insights, found Risch leading the four-way race with 52% support. Todd Achilles, a Democrat former state legislator now running under an “Independent” label, trailed with only 18%.
The results come from a simple, straightforward ballot question: If the election for U.S. Senate were held today, for whom would you vote?
- Jim Risch (Republican) – 52%
- Todd Achilles (Independent) – 18%
- Natalie Fleming (Independent) – 9%
- Matt Loesby (Libertarian) – 2%
This is the second statewide Peak Insights poll this year showing Risch with a commanding advantage.
The result from Peak Insights reflects the political reality that Idaho is one of the strongest Republican states in the country, rather than the slanted narrative by some Democratic pundits that have attempted to claim the race appears more competitive than it is.
With Election Day quickly approaching, Risch enters the final stretch with a decisive lead and Idaho’s U.S. Senate seat remains firmly in the Republican column.
