IDAHO VOICES: “ENDORSEMENT: JIM RISCH”

“In Idaho’s current senatorial race, I’m deeply concerned regarding the supposed “independent” candidate Todd Achilles. He currently states that he will not caucus with a party. In order to hold a chair position or any ranking seat, you must choose a party to caucus with. Achilles previously served as a Democratic state legislator before running as an independent for the U.S. Senate. Therefore, if he were to caucus, it would most likely be Democrats, resulting in a loss of Idaho’s seniority and ability for our voices to be heard.

Jim Risch holds a senior ranking position in our US Senate, allowing for Idaho concerns to be addressed and legislation to be approved. We need a senator that not only has enacted legislation but also one who will protect our ideals. Todd is a potential threat to this and holds significant Democrat ideology, which would result in weak liberal legislation passed on Idaho’s behalf. So I ask those voting in this election to think about what this legislation reflects. We need security for our lands, taxes and our families.

Jim Risch has spent his entire career dedicated to public service and serving Idaho. His influence gives Idaho an established voice. Idaho deserves a senator who understands the responsibilities of office and has a proven record of public service. Senator Risch has demonstrated that experience throughout his career. I firmly believe that Senator Jim Risch has earned your vote and deserves the opportunity to continue representing Idaho in the United States Senate.”
