Senator Risch Announces Re-election Campaign, Trump Endorses Risch
IDAHO—Senator Jim Risch today officially announced the kickoff of his 2026 re-election campaign for U.S. Senate.
“It’s a great time for America. I want to continue working with President Trump to get government out of the way,” said Senator Risch. “We now have a president who is focused on reducing government spending, returning power to the states, and cutting red tape—issues I have devoted my career to accomplishing. We have an opportunity like no other to make America great again and keep Idaho the great state that we all love. I look forward to helping President Trump accomplish our mutual goals, goals that Idahoans overwhelmingly support.”

While representing Idaho in Washington D.C., Senator Risch consistently earns the distinction as one of the Senate’s most conservative members. He works to protect Idaho’s interests by returning management of natural resources to the states, advancing civil nuclear energy, protecting Second Amendment rights, advocating for small businesses, and reducing government red tape. Senator Risch has served as the Chairman of the Senate Small Business & Entrepreneurship Committee, is a senior-ranking member of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee, is co-chair of the Senate Semiconductor Caucus and the National Labs Caucus, and the Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
